It’s great to travel by motorhome and explore so many wonderful parts of the UK, and we believe there’s nowhere better than Northumberland. If you’re on a motorhome adventure and looking for a peaceful, well-laid-out campsite close to Hadrian’s Wall, our site is an easy and comfortable place to stop and stay.
We welcome motorhomes up to 8m in size, with spacious hardstanding pitches designed to make arrival and settling in straightforward.
Our hardstanding pitches are level, giving you confidence after a day on the road. All have electric hook-up, and many have the addition of water for your convenience.
The pitches are gravelled so if you have an awning, there’s no problem there. Many pitches are positioned to take in the wide Northumberland skies and the open landscape that surrounds the site.
If you have a motorhome that’s no more than 6m you can enjoy a bit more outdoor space on our hardstanding with grass pitches. They offer extra room to spread out and come with a picnic bench – ideal for relaxed outdoor meals where you can enjoy the beautiful landscape.
You will be close to the dedicated service area for emptying and refilling your waste and water carriers. The facilities are nearby where you’ll find hot, powerful showers, washing-up area and a laundry room with a communal fridge and freezer making your stay easy and comfortable. We always keep them spotlessly clean.
Our small shop stocks essentials and holiday treats, and if you’d rather not cook, our morning café serves breakfast rolls made with local sausages, bacon and eggs, alongside barista coffee using Northumberland-roasted beans. Everything is available to take away so you can enjoy breakfast at your motorhome at your own pace.
The nearest local pubs are within walking distance along footpaths, making for a lovely evening stroll through the countryside, with chances to spot curlews and, in spring and summer, enjoy the constant song of skylarks.
We are dog friendly as well. We would love to see your canine companion here if you have one and we even have a few treats to welcome them in our shop.
You can head to Haltwhistle, Hexham and many of the local Roman sites. You can even link up with the new HW1 bus that heads further to the West. So, once you’ve parked up, you don’t need to move your motorhome again unless you want to. Although, if you do want to head off in your van, then there are great car parks near the wall which are suitable for even large vans. You can reach.

If you’re setting out on a motorhome adventure along the Northumberland 250 or travelling to or from the NC500, you’re in for a memorable journey. As Hadrian’s Wall is one of the key destinations on the Northumberland 250 route, our campsite is an ideal place to stay, located less than one mile from Hadrian’s Wall Path.
Our nearest town, Haltwhistle, is just 3 miles away and is known as the geographical centre of Britain, making our site a convenient stop whether you are heading north towards the Scottish Highlands or returning south.
Whether you are planning an overnight stop or staying a little longer to explore the local area, Hadrian’s Wall Campsite is well placed for enjoying Northumberland’s historic landscapes, walking routes and nearby attractions as part of your journey.
