Here are some recommendations for all our Glampers.
Do you love the camping experience but want a bit more comfort and a relaxing, stress free break, or would you like to experience the great outdoors but don’t have the equipment. Then glamping sounds like the thing for you.
At Hadrian’s wall campsite, glamping is in the form of 4 shepherd huts and the great thing about these is that you don’t have to rely on and wait for the good weather. They are cosy units with wood burning stoves and heaters for the colder months, even the Winter. Being here in the spring to see the lambs, the flowers and to hear the dawn chorus is perfect. So Easter’s a perfect time to come
In the summer, you can enjoy the long days and sit out in front of the fire pit long into the evening with your marshmallows and smors. If you’d prefer a canvas glamping experience, our large bell tent that sleeps 4 would be perfect for you in the Summer.
Either way, here are a few tips on what to bring on your glamping holiday so that you don’t forget anything and you’re sure to have the most relaxing, exciting and memorable holiday
Apart from your normal everyday clothes that you enjoy wearing, you will also need to consider a few other things
Warm, cosy fleece/hoody for colder days/evenings
Walking gear. This is perfect walking territory so you’ll need to make sure you’ve got the essentials to make your walking day as enjoyable as possible
Wellies – in case it’s wet and muddy. Fitflop have a great sale on some of their wellies at the moment (March 2023). Take a look at these – Amazon
Swimming costume – you might want to head to the outdoor swimming pool in Haltwhistle if you’re here when it’s open
PJs (cosy clothes for the colder evenings and for lounging with the woodburner on)
Slippers
Rucksack for your days out – Amazon
Blanket to wrap around you when you’re sitting out in the evening or what about this amazing hoodie blanket! – Amazon

Check out the website to see what’s in the mobile kitchen and in the Shepherd hut so you know what you don’t need to bring
Food and drink for your stay
Cool bag and ice blocks for transporting food. The small fridge in our shepherd huts has a tiny freezer for an ice tray so you may want to use a cool box to store some of your food while you’re here

HOT CHOCOLATE. Look at these chocolate bombs. They are delicious you just add hot milk to the chocolate which melts and reveals these heavenly marshmallows. What a treat. Visit the Cocoba Chocolate Website
Binoculars for great bird watching. You’ll get up close and personal with the robins and sparrows (you may have to usher them out of your hut or tent) but you’ll see some great birds if you bring your binoculars with you. The RSPB have reasonably priced entry level binoculars which would be great for your trip here RSPB Website
