A bit about the campsite

Hadrian's Wall Camping and Caravan Site is a small secluded site lying close to Hadrian's Wall, 2 miles north of Melkridge Village in the historic and beautiful border territory of Northumberland.

Tents, caravans, motorhomes, children and dogs will all have a warm welcome from our friendly, family run site, set within magnificent unspoilt landscapes.

Located less than half a mile from most dramatic stretches of Hadrian's Wall, the site is perfectly positioned as a starting point for many great walks, visiting Roman sites or Star Gazing at the designated Dark Sky Discovery Site at Cawfields.

Map of the campsite

The site is made up of several levels which can accommodate tents, motorhomes or caravans on either hard standings or grass pitches.

The escalating levels start with Annapurna and work their way up through Kanchenjunga, K2 and finally to Everest, all of which command stunning views and witness spectacular sunsets.

The caravan pitches are located on the large semi circle. In addition, we have individual pitches such as 'Sherpa' at the top of the site or Upper Square/Lower Square which can accommodate larger units.

We have a dedicated camping strip especially for back-packers which are always welcome and do not have to book.

The 'Cook-house' is for the use of backpackers and campers alike. A small cooker and free Gas is supplied for the use of backpackers.
